The Branford Brothers
Derrick Branford - Founder
Since the age of 5, Derrick has been involved in some type of sport. It started with competing in Martial Arts (Judo, Hapkido, Taekwondo) until the age of 16 when Derrick decided to shoot for the Olympics and switched his sport to Olympic Weightlifting. Derrick quickly became one of the top lifters in the nation, smashing all Oregon State records regardless of bodyweight and becoming the strongest man in Oregon's history to this day. Derrick eventually qualified for the 1999 Olympic Trials but did not go due to injury. After retiring from Olympic Weightlifting, Derrick picked up track and field to lose 55lbs of the 240lbs he was weighing from his days as a weightlifter. During this time he studied Nutrition and became one of the leading experts in the fitness world. From Pro Bodybuilders to Basketball players, Derrick has been the "go to" guy for cutting edge nutritional and supplemental advice. When the "experts" want to learn something new in the field of Fitness, they call Derrick. Always learning, always innovating, Derrick will continue to be a force in the worlds fitness forum for years to come.
"The word Fitness has been misused and therefore misrepresented as a term to mean "vanity". Although vanity is a great motivator and byproduct of Fitness, to me the word represents the achievement of well-being, or state of physical and mental accomplishment" - Derrick Branford
